I just bought a new 2500 with the 4.8. Does this van have a fuel filter? I can't seem to find one under the van. The manual does not include a fuel filter on any of the maintenance schedules either. I can't believe it doesn't have one, does anybody know? Thanks!

In the tank, part of the fuel pump module.

So it doesn't have a regular filter to change?

Nope.

What's Chevy's idea here with no filter? Does the one in the tank get clogged up? Coming from an Astro van and all their fuel pump problems, have they come up with some idea here? It just sounds strange not to have a serviceable fuel filter!

It may be they feel if the inline filter was clogged enough to affect performance, that something is in the tank and it has to come out anyway. Could also be part of the returnless fuel system design now used.
