Gas Gauge Braking on a 2001 Grand Prix SEGaryFenza 08-30-2006, 09:14 PM Well, i have seen some posts on other Pontiac owners having problems with there Cars having to do with the gas gauges. What part of the Gas system breaks more ofthen in those situation? the Float?? help me out, cause my cars Gauge is reads full then sometimes empty then goes back up to full:screwy: BNaylor 08-30-2006, 09:27 PM 99% of the problems with the fuel gauge reading incorrectly is the fuel level sending unit seen below. It is part of the fuel pump pod assembly but can be replaced separately. It is the black part with the float. The fuel gauge at the IP Cluster very seldom goes bad, if ever. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y186/lizzywiz/fuelpump03.jpg Fuel Pump Assembly with Level Sending Unit vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
