The first issue, starting with the smallest is the air bag light on, then the next is I was told this is the ABS controller messing up, the back tires grab a little just before a full stop. I was also told this is a very costly repair, and that the Auto tech teacher I was talking to said he just unplugged something to disable the ABS. I'm not going to just start unplugging things on the ABS though. I'm worried because if it starts making that little grab in the rear tires on ice your going to lose control.

Then recently it started making rough shifts. Also the fuel guage is hectic, bounces around all over the place. Is it the sending unit? Where you have to replace the whole $300+ fuel pump?

Thanks!

If you're lucky, the hard shifts are because of low fluid in the tranny. One day last week, I noticed all of a sudden, that the shifts were HARD. There was also a slight whine accompanying the cycling. I was at the auto part store to get a TPS, and checked the fluid before going in. I was 1 1/2 quarts low. I had just changed the fluid and filter a week before. I topped off, and circled the parking lot, and all was well.

As for the back tires, do yo actually hear them 'chirp' on the pavement??? Or do you just 'feel' the brakes grabbing?

For the air bag light, check the wire connections under the driver seat. Seems to be fairly common that the connector does not make proper contact. I usually just move mine around until the light goes out.

For your fuel gage, try running a good quality fuel system/injector cleaner through the system. Sometimes the fuel can cause the contacts to be corroded.

Good luck,
Mark

I thought it was shifting hard becuase it was low on fluid to, but my mom said she just had it seviced for fluids. Still could be it though, I'll check, it only shifts hard every so often, just off and on.

Never thought about injector cleaner, my s10 was having the fuel guage act up, and I put higher octane gas in next fill up, and it's been working since then. So I'll try that.

I'll look at the connector, that's off and on too since we got it.

Thanks, apperciate it!
