Considering a 88 blazer, have a few Q's

I've found a 88 S-10 Blazer 2-door in good shape and at a decent price but I have a few questions. First when I took it for a test drive I noticed the steering felt a little wierd, like it wasn't stable, I was on an uneven paved road but nothing else I've driven on that road felt like that. What could that be? Also I noticed the speedometer bobbed up and down as I was driving, I'm figuring a bad ground connection. Another thing is it's a 4wd, will it be possible to drop it so it sits a little lower like a normal vehicle (too much wheel well gap). Last is it has a really bad looking aftermarket spare tire holder, is there a way to mount it up under the rear like the S-10 trucks do?

If I do get it I'll be re-doing it to mimic a Jimmy SLT, to be precise this Jimmy SLT My ill-fated 94 SLT (http://members.tripod.com/bhanvey/accident.htm) Obviously since the S-10 Blazer has a 2.8 liter engine it wont be exactly like it but oh well, I miss my truck and this seems to be my only way to get one back.

u can lowr it but don expect to offroad in it after wards, and the wobbling in the steering wheels is prolly just a cracked strut, i myself have and 86 blazer s-10 and the only way i can change the oil filter is to reach in through the wheels well and get it, but you know what ever its your car , you wanna chat any more e-mail me at codykolbe@hotmail.com http://www.kolbe5.tripod.com

So where is your Jimmy? It looks like simple cosmetic work to fix it. A new tail gate($35.00), new rear glass($60.0), shave the spare carrier and rear lights and replace the rear bimper with a ZR1 roll pan and new rear lights($185.00). Front bumper gets replaced and covered by an air damn($115.00). Hell, Icould have that truck ready for paint in 2 days for about $500.00. Why would you want to replace it with what sounds to me like a beater. Where is your Jimmy?
