After replacing the alternator on my 1999 Grand Am I noticed my battery light stayed on. Thinking I had ruined the battery prior to alternator replacement, I replaced the battery. The battery light still stays on after replacement.
Any thoughts?

Make sure the connections on the alternator are good and the battery cables are good. The PCM module generates the battery light by monitoring the alternator output. Disconnect the battery negative cable for awhile and then reconnect. It may clear or reset the PCM module.
