Can anyone give info on Continental tires? I was told they come on some "high end" cars. Are they made by Firestone? Any info will be appreciated.

My 04 Mazda tribute (sports SUV, simmilar to ford escape) came with sock continental tires and I was less the impressed wth them. Handleing was suspect. Traction was never a problem though for that matter, handled the rain and snow very well, but then again this is an all-wheel drive car so mayeb that had something to do with it. The tires also started forming bubbles and cracks well before the tread life was ending. I switched to some BFG T/A's and I like them much better thus far. Im no tire expert by any means, but this is my opinion. Hope this helps.

they are not made by Bridgestone/Firestone, and a manufactior, as far as i'm concerned, will put whichever tire they can get the best deal on that meets their specs.
