Why I run DR's as street tires

Because traction is slightly limited with a regular street tire.

The tires were 'donated' by a friend. Nitto 555r streets with good tread.

Only the gas pedal was used in first. Clutch was fully engaged.

Honestly, while it is fun this way, it isn't safe. I could feel that they wanted to break loose if I was in 3rd gear around 4500 and I punched it. That is moving around 60 MPH. It would bark them HARD into 4th gear at 85 MPH too. And that wasn't taking it to redline in 3rd.

so basicly your driving, gun it and burn the tires? Thats what it looked like in the vid.

Exactly.

Then shift into 2nd...and bounce of the rev limiter almost immediately.

Nice. So your street tires you run are the Nitto's? Or you run drag radial for street also?

Edit- I can do the same thing in the ice...lol

I normally run the Nitto DR's on the street.
I had a friend get me these Nitto 555r street tires for a little fun.
Also got a new burnout shot...another 4th gear smokeshow. Much better...car doesn't get covered in smoke this time.
All I need to do is get a little more filler footage and make a new longer vid.

It doesn't get that much time on the street right now.

I seem to have a slight leak from one of my axle bearings, so I need to take care of that soon.
Otherwise, I am very careful when I am out in that car.
Just look at how easy it breaks a street tire loose. You have to be on your toes driving it.
