Of course I would do it, but one thing you HAVE TO be ready for is a blown head gasket - if it hasn't happened already. This is pretty much a given with these cars. I own a 93 3.8L, and have had it happen to me. Anyhow, how many miles are on this car? If you do go for it, you need to keep an eye on the coolant level, and replace the cats asap. These tend to get clogged on this car, and will cause a buildup in the exhaust system that will eventually send gases back up into the engine which seep through the head gasket, displace the coolant, which overheats the engine, and bam...there goes the already compromised head gasket. This is pretty much what (I believe) happened to mine.

Anyhow, my opinion is pretty biased - I love these cars. But if anyone here has anything to add to this, or disagrees with what I said above - please speak up!

I had a 93 3.8 and the head gasket must have already gone, cause i never had a problem... I loved that car so much I got my 97, just based on that... The 3.8 has pretty good power for a V6, and is really decent on gas....

The '95 and bellow have many reliability problems, like the head gasket for example. also, the V6 is under powerd for that heavy of a car IMHO. The V8 gets just about the same milage, but w/ more power. But its a beautiful looking car.

Id turn it into a stock car with a built ford motor but thats just me it looks like a good car though alot better than a Buick

Nice ride, go for it. If the head gaskets haven't gone yet expect them to eventually. Do yourself a favor when they do and do both at the same time so you'll never have to fool with it again. Otherwise you'll love having a Tbird.
