I did not let the the ricer fly-by happen:carrrnuttt 08-19-2006, 09:16 AM On my way to work this morning, I decided to take the long way to work. The long way to work adds about 5 miles to my commute, but on the weekends, it's actually faster, since it is straight freeway all the way to work, pretty much. So, I am in cruise control at about 80, hardly any traffic around (4:30 am), when this set of fake HID's (blue bulbs), and blue fog-lights come flying up behind me, doing maybe 100 or so. I downshifted to 4th, when I see him cut around me to fly-by. By the end of 4th, at about 120 (6-lane freeway, maybe two other cars on the road behind us), he was about 5 cars back. Considering he had all the momentum, I knew then that the car behind me wasn't really anything to worry about. Well, I guess that wasn't enough of a hint for him. He starts to fly by again, and when he was about a fender ahead, I hit it again (stayed in 4th, went back down to about 90 after I got ahead), which dropped him back as before. When he was next to me, I saw that it was a gray Corolla with black-spoked rims, either an S or XRS, from the factory body-kit it had. After this, we finally start catching up to some light traffic, so I backed off, went back to cruise control, and cruised in the far left lane, where mercifully, the slower traffic stayed out of. As I was doing this, some of the 'slower traffic' decided to get in behind me, effectively trapping Corolla-boy behind a wall of traffic. I thought I was rid of him. Wrong. About 10 minutes later, here comes them headlights again, coming up fast behind me. I downshift again. He falls back, gets caught behind traffic that I managed to get around on. I look behind me for the next 5 minutes, expecting him to come out of the small pack of headlights flying. Nope. I figured he exited. Another ten minutes pass (it's an hour drive to work :(). Here come the headlights. The previous steps repeated. Downshift. Leave Corolla in dust. Corolla somehow manages to get caught in traffic. I don't really know how this moron keeps getting caught in traffic, because at about 5am on Saturday, though there are pockets of traffic, there's not that much to really hinder anyone who knows what they're doing. Oh wait. "Knows what they're doing" might be the operative term there... I think he was trying too hard, and kept wanting to 'sneak' up on me from around traffic, since he had no chance taking me head on, and always managed to get trapped, and having to finally come up from behind me again. After about the 4th time this happened (total of about 6-7 times at this point), where this dude actually tried to keep doing this for nearly 30 miles, I got fed up. We finally got to a really open stretch, where the freeway we were on (mind you, this was the 2nd set of freeway we were both on) was really open and was 6 lanes again, so I allowed him to get a full car ahead, and this time I took it up to 140, where Corolla-boy was a dot in the rearview. I slowed back down to 80. HERE HE COMES AGAIN. I would always wait to see what he would do, because some people just really like driving fast, or are in an emergency, but this douche always made it a point to almost rear-end me, then SWING around. WTF is this, turbo-boost-by-drafting, like in Midnight Club? Fuck, did he really just HAD to be ahead? This last time, he really pissed me off, and I wasn't feeling generous at all, so I get ahead again, and this time, I got in front of him directly, and slowed down to about 70mph, and got ready in third. Everytime he tried to get around, all I had to do was blip the gas, and I was ahead of him again, blocking him. I knew my feelings were right about this dip-hole, when after several tries, he realized I wasn't going to let him get ahead, he decides to honk and swerve to exit onto another, completely different freeway. He never acted like he was going for this freeway until the last second. Meaning, if he would have been able to swerve around me on the left, he would have completely ignored the freeway exit/merge. Makes you wonder if he completely went out of his way just to commit a ricer fly-by. RACER D12 08-19-2006, 09:37 AM lol OWNED 2000LS1Z28 08-19-2006, 10:34 AM Good kill. I HATE HATE HATE ricer fly bys. They seem to happen often. In the Evo people always did it to me. It was to keep face I suppose. No matter, you shut that guy up. I kinda like those Corollas with the Celica GT-S engine. Are those called XRS or S model lineage? Gotian 08-19-2006, 11:01 AM the corollas dont have the gt-s engines, the corolla S is just extra features in the car, you're thinking of the matrix xrs, those have the GT-S engines in them carrrnuttt 08-19-2006, 11:06 AM the corollas dont have the gt-s engines, the corolla S is just extra features in the car, you're thinking of the matrix xrs, those have the GT-S engines in them There is such a thing as a Corolla XR-S, with the same 2ZZ engine as the Celica GT-S: http://www.corolland.com/corolla/corolla-xrs.html http://www.corolland.com/images/xrs/2zz-engine.jpg http://www.corolland.com/images/xrs/interior.jpg G-man422 08-19-2006, 11:14 AM Sweet. nice kill. jeepgclwj 08-19-2006, 01:34 PM The thing about the XRS model is that there is not alot you can do to it for power gains. TRD has some things for it, but when my g/f was interested in one. I found that alot of owners were disappointed in the performance.... 170hp/127tq 6M Twizted_3KGT 08-19-2006, 02:00 PM Never would I waste so much gas on a Corolla. 209 SRT 08-20-2006, 02:58 AM ^^^ I would have to agree....if I you have attempted that for a good 30miles I would have lost almost a 1/2 tank of gas.....some times getting in the slow lane and letting speed racers like that pass is a good thing.....you never know if johnny law is watching.....thiers alot of those guys in cali I hate them with a passion.....especially unmarked .... Gotian 08-21-2006, 06:41 AM ha, I stand corrected, i've never seen one, guess thats why I didnt know Musashi3000GT 08-21-2006, 10:45 AM Your just lucky it wassnt a Grand Turismo PS2 Pollyphony Digital special edition Corlla. those are damn quick  2000LS1Z28 08-21-2006, 10:53 AM ha, I stand corrected, i've never seen one, guess thats why I didnt know You wouldn't know cause they'd still be in your rearview mirror. How would you know? Minding your own business is not exactly your strong suit. :banghead: -The Stig- 08-22-2006, 06:35 PM  Let's not even go there boys. Musashi3000GT 08-22-2006, 06:55 PM He did say the guy would come up on his tail everysingle time and swing out at the last moment.....thats being an asshole if you ask me. I guess you have to run into these types of douchebags in order to understand what Carrrnuttt was up against, i know cause I have to deal with Corolla and Elantra road racers daily and I always pirate rape their ass just to remind them that thier lives are weak and they would do us all a service by slicing thier wrists and stop waisting our oxygen and gas. -The Stig- 08-22-2006, 07:19 PM He did say the guy would come up on his tail everysingle time and swing out at the last moment.....thats being an asshole if you ask me.
