Pass. side rear wing window stuck openventureman 08-15-2006, 07:27 AM 98 Venture extended. Passenger side rearmost wing window (power) won't close. Is there a separate motor for each side? What I would like to do is manually close it then disconnect wiring to it so it won't be a concern any more. Just spent $700.00 to have A/C fixed:screwy: ....no need for open windows now! Road trip coming up this weekend, hoping to get window "fixed" by then. Any ideas or experience? Thanks! GregA 08-15-2006, 02:18 PM 98 Venture extended. I went out to my van last night to find that the left side was open and the right side was closed. I have had this happen in the past. So far I have been able to use the control button to open & close again (same thing last night). Possibly a loose or dirty connection - not sure. Yes - there are separate motors for each side. If you want to see how the system works, take a look at the following page where I "upgraded" my van to Power Rear Windows (http://www.my-chevy-venture.com/power-rear-quarter-vent-window-motors.html). Take Care, AJT1961 08-15-2006, 02:28 PM I was always able to "unstick" mine by having someone hold the switch down while I firmly (but NOT excessively) and repeatedly tapped on the window with an open palm (usually around 6 or 7 gentle smacks would do it). It would work fine after that for months until it would happen again and I'd repeat this "repair procedure". ventureman 08-16-2006, 02:44 PM Thanks AJT1961. That did it....almost. The motor ran for about a second before the cam caught and actually started closing the window:banghead: , so it's 95% closed. Just a little "wobble" at the bottom corner but it seems to air and water tight. Thanks for your responses, this site is a great resource, I hope that some time I can help somebody! GergA, thanks for the pics. I think I'll disconnect the motor and not have to deal with it anymore. Thanks again! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
