My 95 corolla won't start w/ engine/discharg/low oil light on keytousa 08-10-2006, 11:29 AM
This morning I started my car and drove about 30 meters. Then the car stopped. I tried to restart the car but it wont and the low oil pressure warning light, discharge warning light and engin check light are all on when I put the gear in D position. Could anyone tell me what the problem can be? Thank you so much for your help! johnholl 08-10-2006, 12:21 PM Broken serpintine belt or timming chain? johnholl 08-10-2006, 12:25 PM continued from above.... Oh, you forgot to state weather or not the starter is able to crank the engine. In other words, turning the key to the start position does the engine try to turn over [start] keytousa 08-10-2006, 12:50 PM I hear the cranking sound but the engin doesn't turn over. The problem happens without any indication. Yesterday, I passed a little pit and after that I smelled the gas in my car with windows closed. I opened the window for a while and closed it. Then the smell went away even I drove for more than 40 miles. The car has a little over 120K miles and it might be the timing belt problem. However, any other problem that might cause the car not to start? KimMG 08-10-2006, 02:22 PM Smelled gas? Maybe you have a bad fuel line. keytousa 08-10-2006, 04:33 PM Thank you all for your reply. The problem is the worn out rotor. Replaced the rotor and the car runs again. Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
