I did a search but couldn't find what I was looking for.

This is an 04 Alero bought new. Just started noticing a sleight musty odor. The car has never been wet inside or anything and the odor seems to have just started .... So I was thinking a/c vents??? Don't know?? First time I've experienced this problem.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

If so, what are the possibilities and how did you fix it?

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

A lot of us get the musty smell. We get a little in our Alero although not bad. It depends on your climate and other conditions. The smell is caused by either mold, mildew or bacteria. The auto parts stores have that aerosol spray you can use by spraying into the HVAC intake duct. I've used Ozium Air Sanitizer.

I think I am having this issue as well. Where exactly is the the intake so that I can spray it?

Thanks!

Just lift the hood. At the base of the windshield by the wipers is the plastic cowling which has those louvres on it. Those are the air intakes.

When you do the spraying make sure the HVAC is in either the vent position or A/C drawing air in from the outside and not in the MAX or recirculate position. Fan speed on high.

Make sure the condensate drain line is not plugged up.

bnaylor..............thanks. I sprayed Ozium in the a/c fresh air intakes as you suggested and it seems to work pretty well.
