coolant temperaturemazdamx-6ls 08-08-2006, 07:17 PM hi, my 1999 saturn sl2 heats up(coolent temperature) while in traffic. and the AC need to be switched on to cool it back down to normal. is this normal for saturns? is there a way to fix it? thank you Cat Fuzz 08-08-2006, 11:41 PM Replace your ECTS (Electronic Coolant Tempurature Sensor). And check the plug for corrosion, if it has white or green crud in it, replace the connector too. It's located on the left side of the engine in the end of the cylinder head. There are two that LOOK alike, replace the one that has two wires going to it. Get a 13mm deep well socket, remove the old one, some coolant will spill, then thread in the new one and don't overtighten it. Oh, and make sure the new one is brass tipped. The plastic ones are junk-ola. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
