I have a 97 Sport. Pacific Green, tan leather interior. 142,000 miles. The engine had a bad injector which leaked fuel into the number 1 cylinder while the car sat a week. When started the engine tried to start but had a hydraulic lock. After diagnosing the injector problem, a new one was installed. When the engine was started it had a bad knock. I am quite sure it has a bent connecting rod...
It is a shame. I used Amsoil synthetic oil in it and it ran great....till now...
It has a Blue Oval switch computer chip and a great trans which shifts nice and hard. Tires are great, interior needs cleaning but fine otherwise except for small seam split in drivers seating surface.
The body it GREAT. It has an extremely clean, rust free under carriage. No rust on rockers or anywhere else on the car. It has a few door ding dents in the wheel lip areas and a couple small dents in the roof from something falling on it (about the size of a dime - not big).
This was/is a great car. It was my daily driver until this engine problem happened (July 17). The brakes are in great shape as is everything else really. I just don't feel like swapping the engine or parting it out - no time for either.
I know people can get a lot of money parting it out.
The car is located in south east Michigan near Pontiac.

First $2000 takes it.

This is the Sport model with the rear spoiler, good suspension, 16" aluminum Sport wheels, anti-lock brakes, ice cold A/C with climate control, automatic headlights etc. Not a common Tbird.

I started looking for a used engine . Sounds like $300 or so. If you can swap an engine, this would be a great car to do it with !

Here is a link to pictures of it.

If I had 2k in my pocket right now your bird would be gone. I have a 97 with a good engine but she was a country girls (my wife) car and life on a farm is hard. She is in great mechanical condition but I would spend that in a heartbeat to get everything on one or the other back to near new and part out the other. Good luck selling, hope she finds a good home.

Hi Jared,
Well, since you don't have the $2000, I'm open for offers.
How much will you give me for it?
This really is a worth while car to buy. I would absolutely hate to part it out.
It has cold A/C and everything except the power antenna worked before the engine died...
It was my much loved daily driver. Imagine my shock when I found out the engine is toast.
Anyway, please come and give it another good home.

I would love nothing more than to give her a good home, but nothing I can offer would be fair to you. I'm in the middle of moving, still paying off my wedding + honeymoon, and we now have a car payment which is a new addition to the family. If nobody offers you a better deal I will try to scrape up something. Do you ebay? I sold a non running '94 police intercept crown vic (I had blown the head gasket (or cracked a head, still not sure)) for $800 on ebay, it had 150k on it and plenty of dings, dents, and blemishes. You should be able to get somewhere between 1-2k for it. if you do put it on ebay take plenty of pics, set a reserve at the lowest price you can live with, let people know what's wrong with it, and expound on the good qualities. And make sure that they know they are responsible for vehicle pick up and transportation. It's just easier all around to let the buyer be responsible for it.

Did you ever find a buyer for your beautiful lady?
