Where can I get a reasonably priced fan assembly or even a fan motor for my JGC 98, 5.9L?

The dealer I spoke with said he could order one for me for $350.00. He assured me it's a "dealer only" stuff I'm looking for.

Please tell me he's full of s*%t. Maybe there's another fan that'll fit in there that I could get cheaper somewhere else? Has anyone tried a different model fan/fan assembly/motor that actually works for this JGC model? Even the junkyards around here in New York City don't have it.

As it is now, I'm looking at $150 labor from my neighborhood mechanic. I don't have a lot of money! I'm an Army sergeant, for Christ's sakes.

Please, any help will be appreciated. I'm going on a three-week mission overseas starting Sunday---I don't want to be thinking of this car problem while I'm over there.

Thanks!

SGT A.

Is it electric or mechanical? Here's the clutch for the mechanical fan - $67.99

If you get the Part# from the dealer, then you can go on the internet and do a search. Many dealers will sell OEM parts over the internet for their cost +10%.
I've ordered repair parts for my Dodge and Jeep from Fulton Dodge for about 1/2 price of my local dealer.
