2004 Yukon Driver's power seat in reverse

The craziest thing started happening yesterday. When I turn the engine off, the seat begins to move forward and does not stop until it is all the way forward. Being a tall guy, i felt like Han Solo in the trash compactor. I frantically tried to move the seat back, but it did not work.

What I found out after is that when I attempt to move the seat forward with the switch, I move backward. And when I move the switch backward, the seast moves forward. Things are in reverse, which is maybe why it moved the seat all the way forward instead of back when the ignition went off.

Anyone seen this before and have an idea what to do? I can take it to the dealer, but if there is a quick fix, I'd prefer that.

thanks,

jpc

I'm not sure how to fixed your mixed up switch, but as a quick band-aid to the problem of it moving forward when you turn the vehicle off, go through the settings on the Information Center and make sure that the Driver side easy exit is turned off. The easy exit will push the seat all the way back and down so that you can get out easier and if you controls are reversed it might be moving forward instead of backwards.

I have the same problem. However, my seat tilt buttons first started working in reverse (i.e., up for down and down for up). then just last week, the seat would not go all the way forward. It would just stop after moving about 4 inches. The very next day, it would go all the way forward again, but the switch was reversed (i.e., back for forward, and forward for back). Is there a relay defective I'm wondering?
