I just wanted to start another thread in order to give quick access to the details of the results that I get from me replacing the aftermarket CPS that I have been theorizing for months now has been causing my misfire issues.

On Tuesday, I had the dealership install a brand new MOPAR CPS on my Jeep in order for me to test my theory (Mainly because I just didn't have the time or place to do it myself and wanted to be as confident as possible that it was installed right this time).

Now I have a new MOPAR CPS on my Jeep and the good news is that the Jeep seems to be performing MUCH better than before, is not "sluggish" at all and I have not experienced any "hesitation" in the past couple of days.

However, it's too early to know if I am still having enough misfire issues to register the "Check Engine" light again yet. In the past few months, after I I cleared the codes, it would still take a day or so to come back on with all cylinders misfiring at random intervals.

I cleared the codes on Tuesday and have been driving it hard around town since then (in nearly 100 degree heat as well) and expect that if it is going to throw a code on me, it will do it tomorrow or Friday. There are a LOT of hills where I live and that usually does the trick at some point because of the load on the engine.

So, once I get through the weekend, I will pass along the post mortem for everyone and maybe we can add it to the list of "things to now" from my symptoms and what DIDN'T fix it. Several people along the way concurred with me on the thoughts of the CPS being bad and I thank you for your help.

In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed. I'll post again as soon as I have more info.

I think you can read some of those theories and things I tried along the way in the thread below:
