This problem has happened twice in the past week. When you start the car, it will start and then die. It won't start again for 10 minutes. Anyone know what this might be a symptom of?

Also the car seems like its using alot more gas than usual lately. The mileage on the car is 92000. It has been well mantained.

Possible fuel delivery problem. How old is the fuel filter? Also, check fuel pressure at the rear fuel injector rail Schrader valve to see if in specs and to check fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator.

Can't say whether they changed the fuel filter in my last tune up or not.The car is only doing this on occasions and every time when the engine is hot. I am not a mechanic so I will have to take it to the buick dealer and pay big dollars and then even they might not be able to sniff it out.

The electrical/electronic components will be temperature sensitive.

The GM 3.1L engine uses two crank position sensors that could cause the problem. The main one (24X) is located behind the harmonic balancer on the crankshaft and the secondary is the 7X located on the back side of the engine block. Symptoms are stalling. Problem is a dealer's Tech II may not be able to confirm they are bad and many times no SES/CEL light or DTC error codes are set. Also, a possible defective ignition control module (ICM). I'd mention it and have them look into it. Good luck!
