UBB or vBulletin?igor@af 12-11-2000, 01:47 PM I finally have enough money to get a good bulletin board. Which board do you prefer I use? UBB or vBulletin? I'm leaning towards vBulletin right now since it's faster and can handle larger discussions. Here are the examples of theses programs: UBB http://www.scriptkeeper.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi and vBulletin http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/index.php also, does anybody know perl? I need a program that would convert the data from BoardPower to either vB or UBB since I don't want to lose any posts or member stats. Thanks. JD@af 12-11-2000, 05:43 PM Hey Igor- I too prefer the vBulletin format. Looks a little sharper than UBB as well. Let's go for that one! Thanks, JD enzo@af 12-11-2000, 08:51 PM I liked the vBulletin better, but disliked the color scheme. I assume you can change the colors though. ---------- "Ferrari isn't a car, it's a lifestyle" -Enzo Ferrari. igor@af 12-11-2000, 08:57 PM yeah, I will be able to change everything including the color scheme, layout, the positioning of the links..... virtually anything. But I like vB more since it uses database and php, which is faster and more reliable [and cheaper]. :D Steveo 12-11-2000, 09:19 PM VBulletin looks a little better than the UBB. So VB. ţ ---------- The Artist formally known as Ahkmid Lickachicken. http://psxi.tripod.com EMV 12-14-2000, 12:43 AM Yeah, vB, seems more user friendly and nicer-looking. josedi 12-18-2000, 02:14 PM I prefer VB... ---------- Jose www.deeperimage.com Edited by: mazdarx7tii@af Edited by: mazdarx7tii@af Firebird1282 12-19-2000, 10:18 AM VBulletin Firebird1282 12-19-2000, 10:19 AM That's the one we use on 3Si.org. Very good layout and shit :D ! Firebird1282 12-19-2000, 10:20 AM How come it edits curse words? That's kinda gay IMO. If people want to curse, they should be allowed to :D ! igor@af 12-19-2000, 10:35 AM check out this post: http://www.automotiveforums.com/cgi-bin/af/discussion.cgi?forum=269&discussion=7 igor@af 01-04-2001, 10:41 PM We will be switching to vBulletin in the next few days, hopefully. :D Let's all thank Sueyoshi Gen for making the conversion script from BP to vB. He's such a great guy! He's a webmaster over at http://www.baseballsimcentral.com ---------- I've seen the future, and all I can say is go back.... Edited by: igor@af Ferrari 308 01-15-2001, 01:16 AM I know I'm a little late since we already switched to V-Bulletin, but I prefer VB as well. They look a little sharper, and I like the smilies better :D Stu igor@af 01-15-2001, 10:11 AM Hey fellas. Well, the reason I switched to vB is because Gen Sueyoshi made a conversion script from Board Power to vB. And I now understand how lucky I got that he made the script before the other guy [who is still 'working' on BP to UBB conversion script...] vB is so much better than UBB. It has so many more features you guys will be impressed! :D Singing-> I'm so~ happy I got vB ...I'm so happy I got vB... tara rari rarara I'm so happy :D Seb928S@af 02-17-2001, 12:53 AM I asked that question before who knows Perl and no one knows it. I know some but very little I am learning it right know so I may be a little help. Bean Bandit 02-17-2001, 06:39 AM I'm :) with vB I got used to it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
