just wondering what's the reason people blur their plates in pictures online?

i must admit, i do it, just to stay anon, cos people round here have ways of finding out where you live, and especially when your cars tuned up, there is a chance they might come and nick it. Sad but true.

Also, if you live in Cali, you can call up the EPA or whatever it is and report that you saw such-and-such license plate on a car spewing smoke. Then they have to get it smog-inspected again, which is a pain, and costs $$.

Here in NZ its as easy as going down to the local Post Office with the plate numder and they tell you the address of where you live...really sucks !! :mad: :mad:
Once they know, its easy to take your car
