06 GMC Sierra 2500HD Automatic Headlights/DRL'stinstar 07-30-2006, 05:58 PM Does anyone know how to disable the automatic function of these. I like to turn on my own headlights and turn off my DRL's I know you can do it everytime you start up, but it's becoming a real pain to do it that way. Thanks!! bzieman2 07-31-2006, 09:58 AM I know what you mean. I had the same problem. Let alone the heat from them being on destroys the clear lense after a while. I just took the bulbs out, cut the little wires on the back of the bulb off, put them back in. This way if I change my mind, all I have to do is buy two new bulbs. Hope this helps tmacmiller 08-01-2006, 05:14 PM Yes, go in the fuse box and take out the fuse for the DRL. It is sometimes combined with fog lights though. tinstar 08-05-2006, 09:56 AM I took out the DRL bulbs so that solves that problem. Couldn't find a fuse labeled as such. My 98 was easy to do just by pulling the fuse. Is there a fuse that controls the sensor that turns on your headlights automatically? I can't stand this feature! Thanks! Bill-SILV 08-16-2006, 11:47 PM I think with your engine off you press the dome overide button 3 times in and out and the truck will make a ding noise and that disables the lights from turning on. tinstar 08-18-2006, 08:05 AM I will give it a try! Thanks!! tinstar 08-20-2006, 09:26 AM No luck. Thanks Bill-SILV 08-20-2006, 11:55 AM I know, I found out last night on mine. I went to the drive in and had to turn the switch everytime I turned the truck on to run the air because it was raining. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
