ive noticed oil build up on my bell housing. it is not a lot of oil, but it is enough to notice. i think it is my main seal, but my question is if it is at all possible to fix w/o removing my tranny? i bought a bottle of trans. recond. leak stop, but will this fix the problem, b/c i am putting it in with the tranny fluid not the oil?

What kind of oil is it, tranny, or engine oil. Either seal (engein or trans) the trans itself will have to be dropped, you can't do it any other way.

THe oil looks like engine oil, so i assume that is what it is. Unless transmission fluid can turn brown/black overtime, ie. not red.
