I’ve heard from more than a couple people CHP was camped out at the AMPM at Sacramento Raceway pulling over modded cars and making them pop the hood.

I can’t believe this.

If you think this is fucked up, call 1-877-247-1929 and voice your opinion.

Great way for them to convince people to take their racing to a track instead of on the street....idiots.

Agreed... that's incredibly stupid.

I can understand the presence to keep people from wanting to to continue the racing off the track, but to basically grab people for just being there and finding things to pull them over for is rather chicken shit.

Then again, who knows what the drivers may of did to provoke the Highway Patrol to pull them over? Some guys can't turn it off when they leave the track ya know?

It’s not a racing thing, it’s about emission laws. The environmental wackos in California have made almost all engine modifications illegal, even CAI are illegal. As far as I know a cat-back exhaust is the only legal mod you can do in California.

You can install a CAI, as long as you have one that has the C.A.R.B. approved sticker.

They were doing the same thing at Speedway. Difference being that they actually went into the event, looked at the cars with their hoods open, and then just waited for them to leave to bust them (Knowing what mods they had on the car). Some people just shouldn't be cops.

cops are jealous b/c they can't afford nice things and they want to have the only fast cars on the road.

I’m sure it’s nothing some generous campaign donations during the next sheriff election couldn’t fix.

Cops on average around here make 48-70k a year, depending where you are and what department.

I'm pretty sure they could afford plenty.

It's not the Sheriff's busting people. I find that most Sherriff's are cool on the average. It's the regular beat city cops and the CHP that have a hard on for busting people that love to race, even if it is legally. When I see the CHP running through the track event, i'll just close my hood and smile at the a-hole looking for a quick fix it ticket.

I honestly wanted to be a cop for the longest time, but the Police Dept. seems fixed on hiring these people with mental illnesses (Why the F would you hire and give a full scholarship to a complete prejudice person, LAPD has, from what I saw at college).

I’m pretty sure regular beat cops would be under the sheriff control.

In the case of the CHP your right the only thing you can do about them is move to a state that doesn’t suck.

Yeah I gotta admit that I am seriously considering moving out of California. The attorney's have all but made sure that no one has fun here. Passing more laws through legislation to make a quick buck off of some poor fool that's main joy in life is racing. Sorry bastards.

Gosh I hate California.
