Hello, i have a 99 buick century custom 3.1L. It has 136 000K on it. In the last year i have replaced all the brake lines and replaced the front pads.
Here's the deal, Sometimes when i start the car the ABS, TRAC OFF, and the service vehicle soon light come on. 99% of the time they come on when it's raining. Just recently the ABS started cycling when ever it wants to I barely have to touch the pedal and it kicks on. I'm thinking ABS censor which means new wheel hub. Any thoughts? Thanks.

P.S. Never cycles when dummy lights are on. Thanks again, Mark.

Classic wheel sensor problems or the wiring/electrical connector to them. An ABS capable scanner should help pinpoint which one.

Thanks, for the help!

I forgot to mention that you can remove the electrical connector to the wheel sensor and clean it with electrical contact cleaner. Check for moisture hub side and at the plug.

Then with a digital multimeter go across the contacts of the wheel sensor (hub side) and the reading should be approximately 1K ohms resistance. All four wheels should be checked. This doesn't work all the time in trying to diagnose which hub/bearing is the culprit but it is better than nothing since most shops charge to put it on an ABS capable scanner. Good luck!
