License plate light, after market that lights up all around plate. stcoughlin 07-27-2006, 07:32 PM
Hi, I bought A fluoresent license plate light & hooked it in to the parking lights. when I turned on the lights the heater control started flashing when I on hooked it the heater control stoped flashing. Different people tell me that you can't hook them up to this car (1998 grand prix GTP) it will burn out the heater computer. Is that right or is their some way different to do it. Thanks BlueGT02 07-28-2006, 08:46 AM i dont know what state you in, but around my town you get a ticket for those flouresent things, i,m not too familiar with the wiring on the 98, but i dont know how connecting these lights to the parking light would have any affect on the heater computer thats a completely different system and wiring. just my :2cents: maybe the charging system cant handle the extra current draw? mike561 07-29-2006, 03:29 AM Actually, well i think around here anyway that you would only get a ticket if the neon is red or blue because those are like police colors. BlueGT02 07-30-2006, 09:07 PM Well my g/f got pulled over and given a warning for a green neon license surrond mike561 07-31-2006, 04:42 PM im sure it varies from city to city and state to state, i used to have purple ones underneath my car and drive pass quite a few cops and they diddnt do anything, i also see quite a few other people with neons on their cars/motorcycles too. BlueGT02 08-02-2006, 01:38 AM i agree mike stcoughlin; how did you wire them in? can you post a picture, it may help us discover the problem Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
