I have noticed here that the general general feelings is that NGK are the way to go for new plugs, as for wires I wear people say Toyota OEM are the best to use, is that even the case over the NGK wires, or any other nice aftermarket wire 8mm or 8.5mm ? Also, I can see oil filters are another big disagreement and most say geniune toyota parts is the best or Napa, but never fram? Any other suggestions as I am about to do a tune up on my new vehicle, Thanks. -Z Mike Gerber 07-27-2006, 03:49 PM As far as plugs, you can use NGK or Denso. Both are what Toyota uses at the factory. As far as wires, I would go with Toyota factory. However, if you are not showing any signs of an ignition problem, I would just leave them alone for now. Both our 94 (78,000 miles) and our 98 (102,000 miles) have the original factory Toyota wires on them with no sign of any problems. As far as oil filters, if you ask 10 people you will probably get 10 different answers. Yes Toyota OEM oil filters are good. I personally have used Fram oil filters in all my cars for more years than I want to admit without any engine related problems, so I stick with them.
