97 voyager loss of instrument powerwesjet45 07-25-2006, 03:41 PM I am having a problem with my 97 voyager, it periodically loses power to the instrument lights and the abs light comes on. After a little while everything powers back up but the check engine light comes on. Any Help would be appreciated. Bear 07-25-2006, 04:50 PM With engine not running check nbattery voltage (should see 12.0VDC) with engine running check voltage (alternator) and should see about 14.1 VDC. A bad alternator or voltage regulator can set off the elcectricls to include the ABS. How old is the serpentine belt on the car? wesjet45 07-25-2006, 10:15 PM the belt is 4 years old and has 50k on it al69mgb 08-07-2006, 12:30 AM It's a loose connestion in the inst pannel. My 98 does the same thing. I get it a good pound on the top of the dash above the indt pannel. I need to remove the inst cluster & clean the connections to remove the oxidation at the contacts. tmore01 08-11-2006, 12:01 AM This might sound funny but I had a similar problem in mine. Took the car to the shop and it was an electrical short caused by pennies inserted through the cd player. They replaced a shorted board and no problems since. After that I had a serious talk with my 3 year old boy.:nono: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
