’99 Chevrolet Pickup Low RPM Hesitation dh302 07-25-2006, 02:16 PM
All, I have a ’99 Chevrolet 4x4 ¾ ton 6.0 liter, 5 speed pickup that feels like it’s missing or running out of gas when you are idling in 1st gear like in field or driveway. It feels the same as when you lug an engine too much and starts to buck. It runs just fine on the highway and at faster speeds or idling in nutral. I asked the first owner of the truck and he said it had done it since the day he bought the truck new. The dealership thought it was the crank sensor and replaced it, but it didn’t fix it. By the way, I purchased the truck from a dealership, not the first owner. Any thoughts? Thanks. Doug dustertwister 07-26-2006, 12:31 AM Doug, I had the same problem on my 01 Tahoe 5.3. I pulled the throttle body and cleaned the backside of it (behind the flap) to remove all the carbon that was built up. I just used gasoline on a rag until it shined. Replaced the TB and wallah, works great again. Give that a try. Frank dh302 07-26-2006, 11:56 AM Thanks, Doug Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
