I was thinking about getting a Fuel Tornado for my van, also maybe a K&N air filter or an AIR HOG 3.0L grand voyager, what are your thoughts, also what about new plugs, any ideas? I am going to be driving it more now and was looking for any input for better gas mileage, trans has been rebuilt at dealership at 91k, got 95k on it now.

My neighbor put a Tornado in his Dodge Durango a while back and has yet to see any fuel savings. Seems to me if that thing really worked you would hear a lot more about it by now. People talk about it on the forums but, that's about it.

The biggest culprit in the mpg game is the driver. My rule of thumb: keep your foot out of it at stop lights, if you see a light is red ahead put the right foot on the floor, don't run the A/C with the oat below 80 deg, keep the tire pressures up, and keep up with the scheduled maintenance. Consumer reports had a review of some of these contraptions a while back. They say that they did not see any fuel savings from any of the devices. The Fuel Tornado was one of the ones that they reviewed.

I installed one of those Fuel Tornado's that I bought on HSN for $109.95 on my 1990 Plymouth Grand Voyager, my MPG increased to 32.5 from an average of 21.6 before.
Last week when I went to the gas station to refuel, I found a golden egg inside my gas cap, and there were 25 $100 bills on the pavement, my radio came on by itself and I heard a song from The Wizard of Oz.

If you have never changed the plugs and wires on this one, I would think it is time. If the engine was running good to start with, you probably won't see an increase in mileage, but this should prevent further deterioration of the ignition system in the near term.
