Don't think I ever posted this how-to here

Yes people, someone has finally done the Broken Hazard Switch repair because we were stupid when we pulled the dash bezel How-to!!!

This applies to all 95 and up trucks

Tools and Parts required:

Parts:
GM Hazard switch repair Kit part # 15174447 Cost= $15.00 to $17.00 at the dealership

Tools:
Needle Nose Pliers

The hazard Switch kit will come with a small tube of dialectric grease. Smear this on the entire thing before installation.

First look at your old hazard hole. You should see it broken similar to this.

Reach in with your needle nose pliers and grasp the edge of the old switch housing and pull upwards and remove.

You should now have the entire assembly out..

Now simply insert your new hazard switch in hole and push down firmly..

You are now guilty of plagurizing yourself.

Got a link to a different forum, which was of great help.
It's even got the same exact format and pictures.

It's been posted on several sites for a long time. It needed to be posted here because we're not allowed to link to other forums. The rules were a little fuzzy when I gave you the link, but now that the rules have been updated, its very clear that absolutely no linking to other forums is allowed.

They told me the same thing with my 98. You have to give them the part number and tell them to look it up. After they know that you know the part exists they will usually sell it to you. Otherwise, it's more profitable for them to sell you the $150 part vs. the $20 part.

does the hazard switch also control the turn signals? cuz i broke mine today and the turn signals dont work either. im assuming the multifunction switch still works because my wipers, cruise control, brights, etc. all still work just not the turn signals. i found this thread really helpful thusfar in removing the broken one but still have to get the part. help???

Has anyone tried this on a 96 bravada? I have had a few shops and a dealer tell me that these are normally modules that can be replaced but in a 96 the entire steering column has to be replace...... im thinking they are yanking my chain. I found another way to fix it but every few months it acts up. I pushed the broken button down enough to where the hazards were off and the blinkers still functioned. Marked that spot on the broken off piece and drilled a hole through it. Then fastened it down with zip ties around the steering column.
