The check engine code d1nonlyjv43 07-22-2006, 01:52 AM
The code that came up was a multiple misfire code for cyclenders 1n3 then to 4 for some reason. When i changed the spark plugs and wires and oxygen sensor the code went away. The thing is you can still feel it kind of misfiring when it goes in a slow speed such as 20 or through 35 cruis'n real lightly. Any suggestions please respond.... Lances133 07-22-2006, 03:24 PM Check the plugs again to see if they're totally snapped onto the plug, also check if they're totally snapped onto the distributor, check inside the spark plug holes for any dirt or oil in there. You're positive the remaining problem has something to do with the spark? d1nonlyjv43 07-23-2006, 11:07 AM I checked them again there all in the holes and snapped on. Someone told me to check my coil;pack or something. Thats going to be hard for me to get to if i had a hard time changing the wires in the back of motor lol. I'm thinking about switching my spark pulgs one more time because i have auto lites in there now and i dont usuall use auto lites. Im going to put NGK's in it again.Thats what i use on my other car ad i dont have a problem with it. One day it just acted like this and its been buggin me i think i might have gotten some contaminated gas or sumthin. I was using reg. grade gas but i went to preimum n stuck a bottle of fuel injection clener in it after n it still hasnt help please respond back. thankss..... mstr3000 07-23-2006, 12:11 PM when you start the car, does it seem as if it has a lower than usual idle? if so, it's probally your TPS (throttle position sensor) they are relitivly cheap to replace yourself. it will run you about $20-$30 d1nonlyjv43 07-23-2006, 12:18 PM ya it does will dat cause it to misfire like that at a low rpm or speed also such as 20- 30 mile an hour jd-autotech 07-23-2006, 12:26 PM a fuel filter should always be part of a tuneup and always seems to be over looked d1nonlyjv43 07-23-2006, 12:30 PM ya i know thats part of a tune up but i had replaced that befor that happend so i figured it didnt need to be replaced again mstr3000 07-23-2006, 12:37 PM try the tps it should fix the problem.
