My wife drives a Kia Sportage 2000 4 doors, automatic trans. The car works fine just due for the timing belt change. Reading different messages here, I willalso change the water pump and the a/c belt. I have two major questions:

What else should I change while working with the timing belt?
This is my real doubt: should I buy the parts from the Kia dealer, or should I buy from the dino parts web site (aftermarket).I will really appreciate any input from any with some info, idea and/or opinion about this. Thanks:banghead:

I would just buy from kia. You know its the right parts, and its already what they use. My $.02

well i was going to change my timing belt but after it being hot out and all i decided to take to mechanic any way you need to replace 2 pulleys for the belt, the tension spring and you should get to the waterpump since the timing belt is out of the way. and the thermostat since you are there any way.

while you have everything apart, change the fuel filter, timing belt, idler springs and pulleys. you'll be taking the fan out clean the clutch of the fan while it's out. change the plugs, inspect the wires. I bought mine from a fellow in Arizona, who sells on eBay. he calls himself the parts Dinosoar in the ebay stores.(http://stores.ebay.com/PartsDinosaur_KIA-Parts. Sent pullys, belts, tensioner spring, gaskets, torque specs, everything. The belts were from Gates.
I also found that the power steering belt improved greatly by using a belt that had notches on the inside instead of smooth like Kia belts, again Gates makes them. Then the damed squeeking when it rained, when away.
