Help! Need a part number! John1978BB 07-18-2006, 06:56 PM
Hello all! First off, i'm a new member but I've been lurking on the forums for about a year. What a great source of information and a great help everyone is here, can't thank the regular contributers enough for all the useful info i've gotten over the year. On my question: I installed one of those ventshade things about a year ago. Long story short, it blew off on the highway and took a piece of the door trim with it (Rear, passenger side door), pics of the trim here: http://members.aol.com/cayster2009/1.jpg http://members.aol.com/cayster2009/2.jpg I can't seem to find this piece on the GM parts site. The site is hard to get around and I never know exactly what I'm getting when I put something in my cart. My two questions would be 1) Does anybody know the name of this particular piece? or 2)If anybody has the part number for this piece. Thank you for any help!!! God bless BNaylor 07-18-2006, 08:18 PM Welcome to AF. Just in case you should include the year and model of your Grand Prix. From the Pic #1, I am assuming '97 - '03. Can you point out specifically the moulding you need? Hard to tell by the pics. As far as the rear quarter window trim this is what I have: Moulding, Rear Reveal - Black Right - PN: 10441918 The moulding piece at the top of the right rear passenger door is: Moulding, Upper, Reveal - Black Right - PN: 10436587 We have some GM parts guys so they may weigh-in to help out and provide better info. John1978BB 07-18-2006, 08:25 PM Sorry about that! It's a 98 Grand Prix GT. Here is a pic with the part that's missing circled. 1a. jpg is where it should be, and 2.jpg is the actual part that feel off and needs replacing. http://members.aol.com/cayster2009/1a.jpg http://members.aol.com/cayster2009/2.jpg Looks like it might be this? Moulding, Rear Reveal - Black Right - PN: 10441918 Thanks!!! BNaylor 07-18-2006, 08:32 PM I use a Mitchell's GM Parts Guide and it looks like a match on the PN: 10441918. The book shows that all as one piece complete around the rear quarter window. It lools like a triangle shape as far as how that specific moulding is depicted in the parts guide. You can check the GM List price at GMPartsDirect.com. You're welcome and good luck! BTW - I forgot to mention there is a color Black/Bright too but I gave you the regular black. John1978BB 07-18-2006, 09:21 PM Wow, list + S/H is 90 dollars for a little strip of metal lol :( I've ordreded from Ed Morad a few times (as per the advice on this forum), so I'm going to check with him first. Ah, the costs of keeping your car in tip-top shape :-p Thanks again for the help!! BNaylor 07-18-2006, 09:48 PM Yeah its expensive but I don't see where just the metal moulding is available separately in my documentation. It shows the moulding that trims the rear quarter window as one complete piece to include that black metal strip. So that is why the cost is up there. The part number I gave you is for the complete moulding. I know what piece you are referring to because I have a four door GTP. Ed the boneyard man is a good choice. jd-autotech 07-18-2006, 10:57 PM Stop By Your Local Gm Dealer The Parts Guys Can Atleast Give You The Correct Name Of That Molding They Are Usally Willing To Help After You Get To Talking To Them (grouchy At First)and If The Price Is To High There Atleast You Got The Name Of The Part And Maybe Even A Part # Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
