Well, just a few weeks ago, my tranny gave out. So I switched the transmission. Then, the car wouldn't start, so I got a new starter. It still wouldn't work all the time, but it would sometimes. I found out that the tranny was not perfectly in park so when I put the shifter in park, it wouldn't be down in the tranny and wouldn't always start. So, the point is, I got it running. Then, I was driving when the car suddenly turned off. I pulled over and had my dad go give me a hand. He figured it was the gas pump since the car made the attempt to start but it seemed as if the engine simply had no gas. We hit the reset button to no avail. He pushed a little thing near the engine where he claims gasoline should come out (when opened) if the gas pump is pumping the gas correctly. So we had the car towed. Once at home, he put in the new gas pump and tried starting the car. Once again, the car wouldn't start. All it does is make the attempt to start, but the engine just wouldn't shoot up. What else could this be? He also thought it might've been the ignition control module, but we tried ours on a similar t-bird and it worked on the other one just fine, so that's not it. Now I'm getting worried. I need to sell the car before I go off to college in August and we can't get it to start! Can anyone help please? Thank you very much!

i had the exact same thing happen to me. it turned out there was water in my gas. i dont know if you purchased gas right before your bird stalled on you like i did, but my mechanic had to play around to get the fuel pressue back to normal. after that, i had to add some octane booster and water remover to my tank.

If you replaced the fuel pump and it's still not getting fuel to the rails, try replacing the inline fuel filter (should have been done before or with a new fuel pump). Also, listen for a hum when you turn the key on, if you don't hear it, check out the fuel pump relay.
