What do you mean your afraid of the auto transmission?
Yes, Toyota is better than Honda. Also, I think you mean 4 cylinder. The Camry is not a V4.

some people said that the automatic transmission of the camry is not good and the honda accord is the best in the automatic transmission and camry in manual ....

They are both great automatic transmissions. It's just your personal preference on which car to get. Since you have a Camry already, you know how well it is. I'd go with the Camry.

Toyota 's automatic transmission is much smoother than Honda's. With the Honda, you will feel every shift - and I mean you definately will feel it ... however, Honda like's to keep things simple and their design shows it whereas Toyota likes to push the envelope and come out with awesome and radical new designs with many more moving parts.

Go for the Toyota, you will not regret it.

BTW: Your Camry is an "L4" ... your cylinders are aligned in "linear" fashion .. no at a "V" angle ... in a 6 cylinder engine, V alignment is used because it stabilizes piston movement and maximizes power.

I would go for the Camry, especially the V6.
My siblings and I currently have 9 Toyotas - my 93 camry 4 cyl has 150k miles and perform much better than my cousin's 2000 Accord (according to her son), and my 2000 camry V6 is too fast and quiet for my aunt's 2001 Accord V6 coupe. I am currently installing brand new 1600W amplifier, 2 500W subwoofers,2 400W 6X9 3-way speakers, 2 6 1/2 180W 3-way Pioneer speakers, Indiglo gauge - why would I do that to a 93 camry, because it's going to last for a long time. ~;)

Camry's always better than accord. The transmission of the accord always has a problem. And accord has problem with the core where the wheels connectings. When it get old it will break when you are driving:)

I have done some research and found that some of the V6's have had some trouble with sludge developing due to the design of the heads to run hot and enable it to meet emissions. What happens is when you turn off the car and it sits, there are areas of the heads that don't drain the oil very well so it boils from what I read. The safe way to avoid the oil sludge problem is to change the oil and filter at sooner than the 7000 mile interval. I'm not sure if Toyota has made changes to the V6 for 2004 but do some internet searches and you should come up with info on this.

I bought a new 2003 with a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder and glad I did because I did'nt know about the V6 sludge problem till after the purchase. I have a Motorguard M-30 bypass oil filter on my 2.4 liter Camry. The main issue with why I got the 2.4 was I wanted to make repairs on this car myself and not have to fight with such a restrictive work area because with the V6 it is tight and hard to get in there to work on anything. Case in point I own an F150 with a 5.4 L Triton and never want to have to remove a head on that engine, because it looks like a nightmare compared to the good old 289ci V8...

The automatic transmission in my 88 has 279,000 miles on it. Never been touched except for fluid changes infrequently. Are Toyota auto xmissins any good.....I think they are!!

I too would go for the Camry. The are reliable as all hell (see calvic's post above) and just a great all around engine.

IMO, there isn't enough difference in reliability between the two brands to have reliability be the deciding factor. Buy the one that you like the feel of the best.
