2000 ss95firebird 07-17-2006, 12:10 PM i have a question why is a 2000 3.8 monte carlo called an ss whats diff about the a non ss i no the engine 3.1 but doesnt ss mean there mods done to the engine from what i found out the 3.8 is just a 3.8 thanks dwalmop 07-17-2006, 06:14 PM Yes, it's a standard 3.8 (200 hp, I think), the same one that is found in the grand prix gt.
