just wondering if anyone knew the rough top speed of the RS model, or if it even has a block at at all.

there is no block and i toped my gs out at 146 but it took forever to get there

146?? I think my GS topped out at 120...it took 2 fuckin hours to get there so I dont remember if I gave up or if that was top speed. The gst tops 134-136...and I will smoke your green machine anyday, and for pinks!

I would assume the N/T models probably have the same limiter the GST does. It's set at 139-140 IIRC. It really dosn't matter...you won't get there anytime soon.

dam you gs is fast then mine , is your gs auto right ? my too ( PSO RS ), but it wont go pass then 120, I did that the first day I got the car. Wont do it again, unless im at the track.

Yeah, unfortunately it's an auto. I was pretty much redlining in 4th when I hit that. It was somewhat safe to do on the interstate at 2 a.m., but your right I probably won't ever do it again now that I know the limit.

120 with the AC off. THat's as fast as mine ever went.

i swear to god it hit 146 in about 3 miles unless my spedo was off. but it hit 146 like i said it took FOREVER but it did get there.

Maybe it was really cold and you were going downhill?

I've done 125 in my 4g64 Spyder GS and to tell you the truth it actually didnt take that long to get up to 120 1st and 2nd the car is pretty slow. But after I put it in 3rd at about 80mph, it runs alright. When I switch to 4th it still pulls pretty good on up to about 120mph. Thats when I shifted to 5th and it didnt pull for nothing, It went up 5mph to 125 and I know I could have went faster but the road was really hilly and I was coming up on a big hill and I didnt know what was behind it so I slowed down.

Fastest I've been was 125. My tires suck enough. I think there is the speed limiter set to like 131, right? Most all cars have speed limiters, just like rev limiters 146 seems far fetched... almost unattainable. And I laugh that it takes "hours" for you guys to get there. You should drive my car then. :wink:

When I had my RS I didnt mod it at all and it topped out at about 125 in fifth gear but I could never get it to redline. It wouldnt go any further than like 6k and yeah it took forever to get there...But I topped out my stock GSX at 140.....and it didnt take that long at all....

Mine governed at ~130, the speedo is off a couple miles per hour though so it could have been 1-3 mph difference each way, and it took a good mile at least to do it.

I have gotten my gs up to 135 on the interstate. It did take a little while to get it there but for what it is I thought it didn't do to bad. Even going that fast the car handled great. Most car I have driven to 100 or so seem to get real unstable at those speeds.
