Transmission/transmission performance

The title should be "Engine/Transmission performance". Sorry. My next endeavor is to make my '96 wagon and '96 Impala run the same. Does any one know if the control computers are different and installing the Impala computers will make the Roadie Wagon run the same? Thanks, Ken

They have the exact same drivetrain and the exact same PCM programs. Only difference in the tunes would be the speed limiter and the tires. What's wrong with your 96 Wagon? Obviously it's slower because it's bigger and does it have the mechanical fan?

You may be partly right in that it's heavier than my Impala. And, maybe the engine needs a tune-up. The Impala seems to be a snappier responding engine and a crisper shifting transmission. The wagon has the mechanical fan that is part of the trailer towing package. It, also, has the 2.93 rear axle ratio and a positraction.

well the 2.93s to the 3.08s would explain some of it. Also the wagon has less hp and tq due ot the fact it has the mechanical fan. LT1s with the mechanical fan were rated at 250hp and around 320ftlbs of tq...

Thanks, I've, also, got 235/70 tires which are a slightly higher tire than on the Impala so they shorten the rear gear. Maybe I should be happy with the room and comfort, Ken
