If you read the latest C&D, you know about this car. It has a 286hp turbocharged I4 from VW. It is made in Eastern Europe, I believe. It is made of aluminum, has 4 instruments, and is super light. This, to me, is the ultimate car. It weighs less than an Elise, and has more than twice the power. I really want one. Its about 50K, and only 20 or so a year will be built.

The car is made in Germany; it weighs 585kg, built using Aluminium Space Frame technology [Audi A8/A2]. The "famous" VAG 1.8t engine, now on steroids, puts out 286 hp and 330 nm, no wonder the car goes from 0-100 in 4.1 seconds and 0-160 in 11.8.

As for the instruments, I counted 7 :D

The name is simply YES.
It looks square because it is so small. Making it 'curvy' would require more metal and more mass. IT is hard to make small cars pretty. There are exceptions, or course, such as the Elise.

what car manufacturer?

The car was designed by engineering students, who have since decided to try and make/sell a select few of them. So, as far as I know, the manufacturer is YES.

A point to ponder; this car, at perhaps $50000, is faster than the Lamborghini Diablo, Ferrari 550, Previous-gen 911 Turbo, etc.

Well, I think its minimilism is gorgeous, just like bikini's. The less, the better:D
Also, the car is incredibly small. Yesterday, I was watching the montery historic races, and there was a Ferrari 275 racing some C2 corvettes. It was like watching a fleetwood race a mini; the Ferrari is so small. The minute size cannot be appreciated in pictures; you need to see the car.

And as stated earlier, it is almost impossible to 'style' a car when it is so small. Granted, the Ferrari is better looking, but this one is still spectacular.

it is a great car! i saw it in real and its qutie short and not too high! i like such cars. if the car is handled as well as the figures say, it will beat a ferrari on a country road!

in a german school you don't learn english, caused by falling asleep! you read and interpret a text in every lesson! it is very boring! <-- just my opinion

that´s the BIIIIIIIGGGGGGG problem at german schools...
especially in the languages...
everything gets analysed and texts must be interpreted... it´s really horrible.
nearly never we talk and discuss any topics... well i should say talked.

Its pretty bad though.. the Audi forum was pretty dead the other day until i went in and told them what i think of the Audi TT, which incidentally is not much! :D

The beetle was based on a pretty rubbish car anyway, but the TT looks like a carmen gear!

The TT and Beetle are both based on the VW/Audi A platform, as are the Golf, and the Jetta, and the A3...

With AWD and factory upgrades available(to TT spec), they're not that bad at all. In fact, a 4motion(vw's name for quattro) Golf is downright sporty, especially when you get your dealer to upgrade everything to TT specs.

It may be a good car, but it's far too womanly for me to drive... You can tell, because Porsche doesn't use the platform ;)

I dont like the TT, actually; it has too little power and handling capability for the money. It is just too much money for too little, IMO.

Throwing power at an inadequate chassis causes more problems than it fixes, IMO.

The V6 in the TT is the 3.2L V(R)6 from the Golf R32, Touareg and Phaeton.

The S4 has already got the 4.2, but from what ive read, despite the power the S4 stil has a serious problem regarding a deficit of feel and involvement. shame.. :(

Spoken like a true enthusiast. Thats why Audi's short-sightedness with this power war will not end well for them. The M5 and M3 are superior to the (R)S6 and S4 respectively and a new M5 is on the way. Manufacturers are getting silly with this "mine is more powerful than yours" thing. Its just stupid :rolleyes:
