CaiPlayStation3 07-09-2006, 01:46 AM hi, i was looks into getting a cai and i seen one at saturn motor sports the aem one but it says it is only for manuels. will it work for an auto? sickcallawayc12 07-10-2006, 03:38 PM hi, i was looks into getting a cai and i seen one at saturn motor sports the aem one but it says it is only for manuels. will it work for an auto? no. none of the auto can get the aem one cuz of the tranny cooler line that goes to the radiator. You can make your own to route around it though so there's still hope:wink: PlayStation3 07-10-2006, 04:33 PM is there any other decent/nice cai? i found a k and n one but it is more of an adapter kit to make a cone filter fit instead of the box, but a true cai sickcallawayc12 07-10-2006, 11:37 PM is there any other decent/nice cai? i found a k and n one but it is more of an adapter kit to make a cone filter fit instead of the box, but a true cai no cold air intake kit will work with an auto. the only other non aem one to my knowledge is made by cp products but it uses the same design. custom is the only way to go (which isn't bad). PlayStation3 07-11-2006, 02:39 AM which would you do if you where in my shoes and did not care about the cost. sickcallawayc12 07-11-2006, 03:18 PM sell the auto and buy a manual (autos don't belong in 4 bangers IMO). Or trade with someone. that's what i'd do, though i know you don't like the clutch in a manual. If you want to make one, i found a thread on how alleninpa made one using a dryer tube on www.saturnfans.com http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46222&highlight=custom+cold+air+intake. This is a more recent one from there as well http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81012 I dunno what material works best when making a cai on these things. put some heat shielding around the tube will probably help some as well. I also saw a link within an old thread on how someone from www.turbosaturns.net got an AEM one to fit on his automatic but can't find it (took him about 4-5 hours scratched some paint on the intake and he didn't know it wasn't supposed to fit in his car, but got it to anyway). I have also heard that a mitsubishi eclipse cai may work with the automatic saturn (key word is may). PlayStation3 07-11-2006, 04:13 PM i pass on the selling part, i do want to keep it for atleast 1 yr until i get a redline or one already with turbo . but i do plan on keeping it. i dunno about making one until i get a body kit. sierrap615 07-15-2006, 12:39 AM what i would do is get a short ram/WAI intake and taper bore the throttle body. short ram/WAIs are also better for fuel economy then CAIs PlayStation3 07-15-2006, 01:13 AM what would be better the k &n one or the aem short ram? do anyone know if autozone or discount auto parts can order the aem one? becuase the less i have to buy online the better sierrap615 07-15-2006, 01:26 AM you mean these two? http://www.spswebpage.com/images/products/AEM530P.jpghttp://www.spswebpage.com/images/products/KN57-3012.jpg like i even need to say, AEM by a long shot PlayStation3 07-15-2006, 01:29 AM aight now do you think someplace like autozone could get one in? sickcallawayc12 07-16-2006, 12:25 AM aight now do you think someplace like autozone could get one in? Probably, but i think online is where you'll get the best deals. PlayStation3 07-16-2006, 08:18 AM yea i know but i'm only 17 so i don't have a credict card or a debit card to use online so i would have to ask my parents and they might wonder y i want one. sickcallawayc12 07-16-2006, 12:45 PM yea i know but i'm only 17 so i don't have a credict card or a debit card to use online so i would have to ask my parents and they might wonder y i want one. tell them it will save a little gas. also easier to clean when it gets dirty versus relpacing the crappy stock dirty paper filter. PlayStation3 07-16-2006, 11:47 PM very true PlayStation3 07-19-2006, 01:06 AM has anyone tried the vibrint one? it does not say if it only is for manuel so it might fit. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
