sluggish acceleration, but good midrange power mxsurf 07-08-2006, 12:41 AM
My wifes 90 camry is slow (tho not missing, sputtering, etc) in the first 2 gears (auto) but winds out fine with power in mid and top gears. I changed plugs, cap and wires, filters, oil,ATF, etc. Is there something I could check. Someone said to change the 02 sensor, and the PCV over 100k. I recently bought a 99 Camry (4 cyl) with 64K and I'm impressed by the power and quiet ride. Thanks, Mike Brian R. 07-08-2006, 01:28 AM Check the ECM for codes. It may, along with other pipes, got clogged. Clean it up. Brian R. 07-10-2006, 10:06 AM vicchang - What are the possible symptoms of EGR plugging? Would OBDI or OBDII engines show a code for this (EGR flow insufficient or something similar)? Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
