i drive on gravel roads everyday on my way to school and i pick the way with the most turns and i always apex through them and when i'm half way through i just floor it to make the rear end break loose, is this the wrong time to floor it or what?

In a RWD car on a low traction surface, any time is the wrong time to floor it. Power should be applied smoothly. That's assuming you have a RWD car...i'd assume you would understeer in a FWD car though.

A smooth power application through the entire turn after sufficiently braking before the turn should yield the best trap speed after the turn.

no no,i mean like rally racing where you TRY to go sideways, road courses are where u wanna keep control, this is a gravel road with a rear wheel drive car

You should floor it right after the apex of the turn.

Yeah, if you're trying to get the back end around, at or after the apex is best. Too early and you'll spin to far, too late and you'll just lose acceleration.
