Today at a light, my car started smoaking, so i pulled over and went to look, after turning my A/C off the smoak stoped.. i called my friend and he said its prob my A/C compresser that seazed up causing the belt to spin on a non spinning bushing.. someting like that..

is it a good idea to bypass the AC or just take it out.. i dont have the money for a new compressor.. and idk if any more work is worth it for this car..

The AC compressor on my 1990 Corolla DX started squeelin' like a pig a couple of years back. Thought is was the idler pulley at first...well, that was screeching, too. But the compressor was stiffening up, too. Since it was driven by a separate belt, I just cut the belt off. Hasn't affected anything, best I can tell. I'm not sure if some of the newer models have a one-belt-drives-all system, but if yours does, that may be more of problem. I'm sure other folks on the forum will have some good advice on that score.
Also, many years ago, I lost an AC compressor on a Pontiac on the interstate up in northern New England. Belt started smokin' like it was on fire. I just clipped it, and that was that.

Just leave it alone and don't turn on the AC. If the AC is automatic for defrost, remove the belt.
