92 Camry Drivers door panel and window..help please...hwyflier2 07-04-2006, 12:23 PM I need some assistance here... yesterday while driving the car....I went to roll the drivers side power window down and heard a pretty big metallic bang.:uhoh: . and then the window no longer worked... it was stuck about halfway down... I tried using the switch to get the window up and I had nothing at first... except that the motor worked going down while trying to roll the window down...I noticed a cable that started creeping up between the inside of the glass and the window seal.. While trying to roll the window up I heard no window motor at all.. I could grab the window and manually push it up but it wouldn't stay...it dropped back down to about halfway up.. I kept messing with it and for some reason it seemed that the motor worked and the window started rolling back up... I finally got it all the way up and closed tight.. Now, I obviously don't want to try anything else until I can get the door panel off and look at what I have inside in there and how bad it might be.. Does anyone have any ideas about what happened and how do I get he door panel off... by the way, I tried downloading the manual for the Camry on this website but I can't get the .rar to work so I can download and read the manual.. :feedback: Help me out here... Thanks in advance, Kevin Mike Gerber 07-04-2006, 01:20 PM I think there is also a generation 3 manual on the Camry forum of Toyotanation.com that you can download. Here's the link: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t62501.html Mike Brian R. 07-04-2006, 02:06 PM A direct link to that manual is in the Camry Manuals sticky post, along with the RAR download. joandjo 07-17-2006, 10:43 AM "a pretty big metallic bang..." That's exactly what happened to my windows (both driver and passenger sides) about 5 years ago. They happened only a few months apart. I heard it's pretty common problem on gen 3 Camry. I had the dealer to fix it. They said the window regulators were broken. When it broke, it also broke the motor housing so I had to replace them both. It costed me more than $400 per side. It's expensive repair. So why don't you download the manual and tackle it yourself? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
