few questions

1 my car has this thing hanging in the back on ther driver side behimd the tire does amyome no what it is my car is making a woo sound like am owl is it form that thing hanging

2 a rear min oil seal does anyone no how much that will cost to fix

3 if a camaro is a v8 would it say z28 or did they make camoro with a v8 that does not say z28 if so whats the diff

1) Not sure, a picture might help. I'm not aware of anything that should be hanging behind the drivers side rear tire. Unless it's some sort of mud flap. Would need to see what it looks like in order to determine if it's creating the sound. Otherwise my best guess would be that the "woo" sound might be related to your differential.

2) Not sure, I would recommend calling some shops around your area. Prices often vary from locations and buisnesses.

3) The V8 Camaro's were labeled as a Z28, or an SS. If it has no badge but yet is a V8, then either the owner debadged the car, or the owner did an engine swap from a V6 to a V8 (which you rarely ever see)

4) The 3.4 would win. Reasons:
The 2.8: 135hp W/ 180tq
The 3.4: 160hp w/ 200tq
The driver with the automatic 3.4 may not have as good of a launch as the driver with the stick 2.8, but that depends on how skille dthe driver with the 3.4 is with launching an automatic. But regardless, with the 3.4 creating 25 more horses 20 more ft/lbs of torque, and both the cars almost the same weight I see the 3.4 winning.

If you research the 3.4L some, you will learn that the 3.4 is a decendant of the 2.8. GM came out with the 2.8L originally in the earlier 3rd gens. Then in 1990 they released the 3.1L, which is a bored and stroked 2.8L with the same design. Then in 1993 GM came out with the 3.4L, which is a bored out version of the 3.1L (same stroke though) with a new upper intake manifold design. So as you can see, all 3 engines are identical, just over time have seen changes in designs and increased displacement.

Hmm, I still have no idea of what it could be. As I said before, would be alot easier to determine that if I had a picture of it or even something it looked like.

the only thing that would hang from your car should be either static stips or curb feelers.

Static strips use static electricity from the ground, via a cloth strip, to keep a spark from happeneing as you fill up your gas tank after getting in and out of your vehicle.

And a curb feeler is someting that sticks out past your tire so that when you come close to a curb they make a loud noise, but you usually only see these on older cars or cars with huge rims, or rims that have a center that sticks out farther than the rest of the tire.

Sure looks like a EVAP canister to me.

Evaporative emissions control system. Since these are sealed system vehicles in repsects to the fuel system, gasoline vaprs are removed via a charged charcoal filtering system which s/b that canister.

I was beginning to wonder why you had an EVAP system, I've never seen anyone have that on an F-body.. But now I see you're located in Cali, so it makes sense that you have it on yours since you have to go through some strict emissions testing. Hopefully you'll have no problems with passing the tests even with that thing off.

EVAPS have been on GM's in one fashion or another for quite some time, regardless of location. I just know on 4th gen f-bodies they moved the canister to the rear of car instead of in the left front fender.

umm, where are you venting to? You know you can drop a match in puddle of gasoline that has sat and satblized and it won't catch fire? It's the fumes that have the low flash point, I wouldn't wanna be driven around like that.

My EVAP line is wide open under the hood.

The LS1 has the EVAP all set up under the hood, when I upgraded fuel lines, I no longer had a spot for the EVAP can. So it vents to atmosphere under the hood.
It isn't fumes, just air. Pressure builds up, and releases through this line. Before, it was connected to the intake manifold.
Since been turned off in my computer.
