Deakins 08-09-2002, 10:51 AM Where are you located? Rushkiboy 08-09-2002, 12:13 PM South River, New Jersey Deakins 08-09-2002, 01:14 PM GIAC (supposedly) makes a great chip for the V6 and the Tiptronic, I think their closest dealer is Shine Racing Service in Walpole (Boston). You can also check out the Upsolute and Wetterrauer V6 chips. .: www.clubb5.com :. Rushkiboy 08-09-2002, 02:13 PM Is there a silencer I can take out of the air cleaner box??????? Rushkiboy 08-09-2002, 02:19 PM I put GIAC in yahoo search and there is nothing. Do you have the full name so I can get on there web site?????Thanks a lot. Rushkiboy@aol.com I have a 2002 Passat V6 w/ 4 motion Deakins 08-09-2002, 04:00 PM Try http://www.giacusa.com/ , the V6 section is still "under construction", but their dealers have the chips. Dou you have the Tiptronic gearbox? And, as for the air box, I don't know, I took out a snow-filter and a snorkel/silencer of my box, but it's a ten-year-old VR6 air box. Rushkiboy 08-10-2002, 09:59 AM I think I have Tiptronic, if you put the car in drive and slide the shifter to the right to manually shift I got it.Thanks for all the help there Deakins! Deakins 08-11-2002, 08:06 AM You’re welcome. Now, I would really recommend you getting a GIAC Tiptronic chip. It makes a world of difference, the gearbox actually responds to gear changes right away, without the one-second delay. Rushkiboy 08-11-2002, 10:48 AM I will check out giac but when I went into the Upsolute web site I saw that they have a dealer 30min. from my house which is great when it comes to installation. The improvements would be 14 hp and 2 mpg. which isn't bad but nothing like gains on the 1.8 I will check out giac to see what there chip will do. P.S. Tried to see if there is a baffle in the air cleaner box its a job just trying to take the air filter out with all the vacuum lines hooked up.
