Welcome to your first post on AF.
If it is a in tank electric fuel pump you need to replace it to make it work right.
In line fuel pump may be a tempary fix or a tempary start up but they are the pits.

Might as well as replace it, as I think thats the only way. And do it right the first time because you'll only spend more money after that.

Its a bitch though, ive changed out my fuel pump on my 3rd gen and damn.. never want to do that again.

Congratulations, you have to replace the biggest pain in the #$% on your car!!!

Your going to have to replace the fuel pump, which means dropping the tank which is easier said then done...

Or cut a whole in the trunk, so you can access the gas tank from above (never done it this way but I have heard of it being done.)

Also check for power and ground to fuel pump and for good or any gas in tank.
Try the old whack the bottom of gas tank.
The fuel pump may just be sleeping instead of dead.
Good luck MT
