My day at the track...NateS 07-01-2006, 01:07 PM Okay well I finally decided to hit up the track. I was a little nervous because, I had never raced at the track before or even ever been to one. Well I got three runs in. I only got one good run. The other two runs I expierenced random mystery problems that come with owening a dsm. My last run I was up against an sti. I launched perfectly and had a big ass smile on my face. Then I put it into 2nd and it tacs right up so I shift again. I figure I'm spinning because 3rd tacs right up again. I let off the gas then push it again. It still did the same thing. Right about then I thought my clutch took a shit on me or something. Anyways I finished that run out nice and slow (topped out at 42mph and 22seconds) Haha yeah, sucked. I was really hoping to see high-mid 13s. I was only running my daily boost (19psi) but I still did okay with my good run. Heres my good run. My launch kinda sucked becuase the track was soo sticky, even launching at 4,500 it grabbed right away and I bogged a bit. R/T .043 60' 2.135 330 6.028 1/8 9.164 MPH 79.77 1000 11.774 1/4 14.023 MPH 101.45 I am a bit disapointed because, I know my car can hit mid 13s for sure. It was my first time at a track so I guess it was okay. Next time I go up though I think I'll be running 24 pounds of boost instead of 19. First I need to get used to the track. steviek 07-01-2006, 02:08 PM Just by looking at your trap speed you can tell your car is much more capable then that. Especially because your awd a high trap speed will result in lower ET's your definately a thirteen second car. Next time I gurantee you! Thor06 07-01-2006, 04:17 PM Yeah, my buddy was running 13.8's at 101-103 on his SRT, and since you're AWD, I would think you could squeak out a 13.5 or so. Talon69 07-01-2006, 04:36 PM Yeah your 60 foot times suck, get that down and your all good ;) My 60 foot times are uaually 1.8 and sometimes 1.7 and that was with a stock clutch launching at 5,500 rpms. I cannot wait to hit the track now with all my new stuff in. 222 miles now on my new engine. NateS 07-01-2006, 05:31 PM Yeah, like I said the launch for that run sucked. I was launching around 4.5k and when I took off it jumped and bogged out. It grabbed way to quickly and I slipped the clutch out to fast. Then the next run I launched beautifully but, the clutch did not like 2nd gear to much. I'll just have to keep practicing. I know my car can hit high 13s for sure and maybe mid 13s. It is funny though... racing on the streets I have never had a bad launch or problems with the clutch but, of course I hit up the track and just suck. I think my reaction time was pretty good for only the second time ever racing on a track though haha. NateS 07-01-2006, 05:35 PM Oh, and I also have the stock clutch. I have not upgraded it in fear of CW haha. I was thinking of an organic disk though. I have heard good things about them. Talon69 07-01-2006, 07:59 PM If you look at my sig im not even hitting a 100mph in a 1/4 NateS 07-01-2006, 10:08 PM If you look at my sig im not even hitting a 100mph in a 1/4 What exactly does that mean? Any ideas on times running 101-103mph? Talon69 07-01-2006, 10:19 PM The only time i was running over a 100mph was when my 60 foot times were over 2.0. Like they say the more you spin off the line the higher your MPH is. But being we are AWD its clutch slipping lol vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
