So im pretty well desided iv wanted a firebird every since iv loved cars...well forever then. But i dont have the $$$. :uhoh: . So iv just started my search and thought id ask the experts here about the one iv seen. Im looking for one from 1995 to 1997 give or take (the price is the killer for me). So yesterday i was working and drove by a lot and on there back row they had a 1995 firebird. its burgandy, auto, t-tops, V6 (not such which one but i might go back to look more in depth). It looks pretty good other than a spot on the front bumper it has a little section of missing paint, the fiberglass (i assume thats the material) isnt broken. i couldnt quite see the mileage but i think it said something like 110K. The price seems high, which is why im asking everyones opinion, $3970 (give or take). Now ill have to finance but i have around a thousand to put down. i think of course ill look around ALOT more before making a decision and wanted to see how this one rated. also what kind of interest rate do you think i could get?
thanks for your thoughts! :icon16:

how is your credit score? the interest is all about that.. is that private seller or dealer? dealers are always making at least $1500 on used cars. offer the seller 3k. if they accept, get it, if they dont say goodbye to them and keep looking.. you will see hundreds of v6 firebirds around..

P.s. why dont you send the link here or post up some pics and informations about the car so we can see what it is look like?? ALSO SEND ME THE VIN# ON CARFAX REQUEST THREAD AND I WILL CHECK IT FOR YA..

There's a 90% chance that the car has a 3.4L if it's a 95 V6. If that's the case, then it's definately not worth $3970, especially with 110K miles. I bought my car with the 3.4L V6 for $3250 with 88K miles. Those V6's don't sell for alot because they're simply not worth alot. Most dealerships who put a high price tag on a car with that engine are simply putting it there because hey, it's a Firebird. They don't look cheap at all, so why sell it for such a low price.

If you wan't a V6 that you would like to get great performance out of, then i would recommend getting one that's between the years of 96 and up (and in some cases you will find some 95's) because those were all upgraded from the pre 93-95 1/2's 3.4L to the 3.8L. The 3.4 is a very dependable engine from my own personal experience of owning one. But when or if you get to the point of where you would like to modify you car, it's not so easy getting performance out of as it would be with the 3.8.

***Proud owner of a 1998 Firebird with the 3800 Series II 3.8 V6*** ~_^

My dad's got a Black 2000 WS6 Trans Am (6spd)...It's got the LS1 5.7

I've driven a Camaro with a 3.4 and my Firebird with the 3.8...and I must say there's a world of difference between the two. The 3.4 is rated at 160hp...while the 3.8 is rated at 200 (correct me if I'm wrong). I recommend the 3.8 if your shooting for a V6...and personally I like the 98-02 bodystyle better than the 93-97...

If you're having a problem finding a car within your price range then I recommend using autotrader.com

autotrader is where my dad found his WS6 Trans Am.
