Well im in florida and it gets pretty hot around this time..I always have those windshield reflective shields up to prevent it getting hot inside but im worried about my paint. Its a hassle putting it in the garage as we dont have a garage door opener and the car barely fits in there. I just want to make sure the sun wont hurt my paint too much..i dont want a pink firebird :grinyes:

keeping your car clean and waxed will help prevent your paint from fading. It wouldn't hurt to get it professionally buffed once a year either, but that is expensive which is why i learned how to do that myslef so all i had to do was buy the buffer and rubbing compounds.

How this is your clear coat brass_monkey93?

1. buy garage door opener (cheapest way to help keep your car looking good)
2. keep the car clean and waxed as brass_monkey93 said
3. try to find a shaded spot to park your car (but if your like me there is no shaded spots at work).
4. If your clear coat starts looking dull after a washing try using a clay bar on it, then re-wax, if that doesn't help then have the clear coat buffed out, but I wouldn't do that more then once or twice, if you do it more you will remove too much clear coat and it will start to chalk up on you, then you have to have it repainted (which isn't cheap, believe me I just got mine painted (had to get out the key marks from the previous owner)).
5. I detail my paint between waxings with Honda Cleaner & Polish (motorcycle shop), im sure there's more expensive stuff out there, but this does a great job, helps protect the paint as well as cleans it.

Youd look a little silly at work or Publix doing this, but at your house or if you know your car will be parked in the sun for a long time, just throw a car cover on her. You can get pretty decent ones that protect against moisture as well for around $100 Im sure. Lower quality ones that wont last as long you can get at Wal-Mart even cheaper.

gmack-my clearcoat is just fine. My car has only been buffed twice because the previous owner didnt do anything to help the paint but wax it.

like anything else, you can buy a cheap one and replace it years down the road, or you can buy a good one. I looked on homedepot.com and found the cheapest one was about $160, clean out the garage & put it up yourself and you have a cheap paint saver.
